“We continually send Vocal Trash over-seas for our Peace – Love – Recycle initiatives. By design, their performances transcend all barriers connecting with the human spirit like no other.” – Robert Kieth, Cultural Programs, U. S. Department of State
“By far the most crowd-pleasing group I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with.” – Terry Fator, Americas Got Talent (Las Vegas Mirage)
Best described as “entertainment with a conscience”, Vocal Trash is an urban-themed Broadway style production that reconnects us with our planet and it’s inhabitance. This 7-member, green-minded troupe rescues items from landfills to create a meaningful experience unlike any other. Toolbox guitars, a milk-urn bass and numerous repurposed industrial percussion props accompany singing, breakdancing, and comedy, leaving the audience not only entertained, but inspired to spread peace, love and recycling. Along with their annual coast to coast touring, Vocal Trash has recently toured to Europe, Asia and the Middle East to help promote their new original musical collection/CD Let Peace Begin. The groups focus is to spread their message at home and abroad utilizing the universal language of song and dance.
Vocal Trash fuses world-class entertainment with world saving awareness. This mantra may very well be the reason this Texas-based group is garnering world-wide attention from not only new found followers (affectionately known as “Trash-Heads,”) but also the green industry. Their art has been described as “music with a conscience.” With their seemingly endless energy and one of a kind concept, these world-class entertainers have toured extensively, made guest appearances on morning shows, been the subject of countless news articles and earned a substantial grass-roots fan base from New York to Seattle and abroad.
Now, more than ever, it’s vital we think in terms of recycling to make a cleaner, healthier planet for future generations. This has been the mission of Vocal Trash since their inception. Their shows raise awareness and make a positive impact all around the country and abroad. The group’s lead singer, Kelsey Rae, takes their recycling and repurposing message a step further in her unique children’s book, THINK … Before You Throw It Away. Featured on the Hallmark Channel, the book, written in the whimsical style of Dr. Seuss, tells the story of Claire, a 10-year-old girl who finds adventure in a city landfill, of all places. Together with some new and unusual friends, she discovers that through better choices we can help save our planet. Claire’s newly created musical group, Vocal Trash, inspires kids to learn how they can make a difference by reusing, recycling and yes, THINKING… before they throw it away!
“The story allows us to imagine a world where the items we love can live forever through recycling and up-cycling,” – Kelsey Rae
